The wind was a huge determining factor in this match. We just couldn’t find a way to keep the ball in the courts. Also having Lauren McCrary and Mykayla Couchenour out it allowed for a very young and inexperienced group to play this evening. I saw some good things, but lots of the mistakes we were young mistakes and hopefully the girls will only learn from them. I can’t wait to see what this young team can do a couple of years from now.
1Singles Ella Hays fell 2-6, 0-6
2 singles Madi Ziegler fell 0-6, 0-6
3 singles Christine Morris 2-6,1-6
1 doubles Emily Myers and Kaitlyn Williams fell 1-6, 1-6
2 doubles Delaney Bobe and Morgan Beard fell 0-6, 3-6
Michaela Sampson and Marli Lindaur fell 3-6, 4-6
Presley Cleveland and Brooke Willis split sets 6-3, 4-2
Kaitlyn Williams continues to impress me with her nets skills increasing each match and a little more depth comes. She tends to find the open spot on the court and she is performing wonderfully. For a freshman in that position. She always comes to play and that is what makes her so enjoyable to watch. Delaney Bobe on 2 doubles continues to change things up as all. She is a junior. I wish I would have been able to teach her freshman and sophomore year and she would only be ten times stronger this year but we are continuing to grow and gain strength each day we play. We play again on Monday, home against WRV.
