Tough night in Verne as the Spartans drop Game 2 to North Posey 11-1 in 5. DH Cohen Marvel led the way at the plate (1-1) with a single, a SAC fly, and our lone RBI. Dobbyn, Harmon, E. Hartwick, Worland, and Wirth also singled. On the base paths, Worland, Wirth, Dobbyn, and E. Hartwick all swiped a bag each. The Spartans committed zero errors in this evening’s contest and Dobbyn and E. Hartwick made some great diving catches in the OF. SP Brody West faced 27 batters in 3.2ip, walking only one and fanning 4. Freshman Kam Rehwald got his first varsity relief appearance, threw 16p (10 for strikes, with 1K). If the rain holds off, the Spartans are back in action on Thursday at home as they face off against the Robinson Maroons at 5:30pm.
