The Spartans traveled to Montgomery tonight to face the 2A #4 Barr-Reeve Vikings in a Blue Chip Conference battle. Viking sophomore SP Wrigley Wirtz went the distance and fanned 8 Spartans in a 4-hit shutout of South Knox. Top Offense: CF Evan Hartwick (2-3, SB), Mac Harmon and Turner Dobbyn singled. 1B/RP Brody West was effective in relief, striking out 3 in 3ip. The Spartans (9-9, 2-2 BC) travel to Shoals on Friday 5/8 at 5:30pm for another conference contest with the Jug Rox.
