The Spartans started off well with lots of chances in the first 10 minutes. They finally broke through with the opening goal, coming from a deflected shot by Kalissa Lavely hitting the crossbar and being finished off by Azaria Easley. The Spartans continued to push and held a 1-0 lead into the half. The Jeeps came out of half with some energy, and the Lady Spartans matched it. Continuing to control the ball and have chance after chance, the Spartans scored again, when Khloe Minderman found Kalissa Lavely who chipped it over the keeper to extend the lead to 2-0. The Spartans held steady and continued to stay strong on defense. The game finished with the Spartans winning 2-0. It was a great overall team performance. With all girls contributing and battling. Keeper Layla Thomas held strong in goal and had 10 saves. The Spartans move to 2-0 (1-0 Blue Chip) on the season. They play again at home on Wednesday at 6pm against Evansville Christian.
