Lady Spartans take down the Patriots Varsity vs Vincennes Rivet Win The Lady Spartans hosted the Rivet Patriots tonight for a conference match up. Both teams were ready to play, with play being back and forth for a few minutes. After that, the Spartans locked in and started dominating the chances. Finally, in the 11th minute, the Spartans were awarded a corner kick, and Kadee Jeffris delivered it directly into the net for an incredible Olympico goal. After this the Spartans continued to push, and won another corner kick. This one was sent into a similar position by Jeffris but found some bodies and eventually came to the ground for Azaria Easley to poke it into the net to double the Spartans lead. In the meantime the Patriots made a couple pushes with some dangerous chances that were stopped by some incredible saves from Layla Thomas. South Knox continued to push the rest of the half, and were rewarded with a 3rd goal that was setup by Lena Dent passing it to Kalissa Lavely who hit the cross bar and bounced it over the goal line. The Spartans came out the second half and continued to control the ball. A couple good chances came about with through balls to Easley, one of which she put in the back of the net in the 49th minute. This was followed up quickly with another beautiful pass from Lavely, that Easley ran on to and dribbled it around the keeper, putting it in the net again to cap off her hat trick for the night. The Spartans rotated players and got value experience in different positions the rest of the half. It was an overall good team performance, with defense holding strong in the back and Thomas in goal.
