The South Knox Middle School girls cross country team won the Loogootee Invitational Monday evening, scoring 39 points and finishing 17 points ahead of runner-up Barr-Reeve. Macyn Perry led the Lady Spartans with an individual victory in 12:38.30. South Knox then packed four runners into eighth through 11th place. Haven Evans placed eighth, followed by Jacie Shepard in ninth, Lydia Emmert in 10th and Molly Carnahan in 11th. Audra Like finished 16th, and Addie Blackwell placed 17th, giving South Knox seven runners among the top 17. The Lady Spartans recorded a 1-5 split of 1:16.10. Haven through Molly crossed within just 5.9 seconds of one another, helping South Knox secure the team victory.
