Lady Spartans take down the Cardinals 10-0 Varsity vs Bloomfield Win The South Knox Lady Spartans traveled to Bloomfield this morning for an out-of-conference matchup. The Spartans started slow, but controlled possession from the opening whistle. The first half continued to tick away until, in the 25th minute, Khloe Minderman broke through and hammered home the opening goal. Just six minutes later, Cora Edwards played a ball up to Kalissa Lavely, who found the back of the net to make it 2-0. The Spartans continued to pressure, and Azaria Easley found Lena Dent, who calmly finished to extend the lead. Before the half, Minderman found Kadee Jeffris for the Spartans’ fourth goal of the match. South Knox came out firing in the second half. Just three minutes in, Minderman set up Easley for her first goal of the match. Two minutes later, the same combination connected again, this time with Easley setting up Minderman for her second. The Spartans kept the pressure on, with Easley scoring back-to-back goals just a minute apart to complete her hat trick. Lavely and Reagan Harrington provided the assists. With the Spartans firmly in control, Harrington found Lavely for her second goal of the match. The Spartans continued to push, and in the final minute before the mercy rule took effect, Lavely found the net once again to complete her hat trick. The match was called with 20 minutes remaining due to the IHSAA mercy rule, with the Spartans earning a 10-0 victory. South Knox improves to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Spartans travel to Pike Central Tuesday for another out-of-conference matchup.
