South Knox traveled to Sullivan this evening to face the Golden Arrows. From the opening whistle, the Spartans controlled the game, keeping the ball in their attacking half for much of the first 40 minutes. The Arrows managed a few counter opportunities, but goalkeeper Layla Thomas handled them with ease, sending the game to halftime knotted at 0-0. Frustrated but determined, the Spartans came out firing in the second half. Less than a minute in, Cala Charleston slipped a well-placed through ball to Kadee Jeffris, who calmly slotted it home for the 1-0 lead. From there, South Knox only tightened their grip on possession, creating wave after wave of pressure. Sullivan’s defense stood firm for much of the half, denying several chances. Persistence eventually paid off in the 76th minute when Reagan Harrington found Ava Babrick, who buried her shot to double the Spartan lead. South Knox closed out the final minutes strong, continuing to push forward and rotate fresh legs into the match. It was a complete team effort, with every player earning valuable minutes and contributing to the win. With the 2-0 victory, the Spartans improve to 7-3-1 (4-1 Blue Chip). They’ll have a few days’ rest before hosting county rival Vincennes Lincoln this Saturday, September 20th, for Senior Night. Player introductions begin at 4:45 p.m., with kickoff set for 5:00 p.m.
