Under a light drizzle at Northeast Dubois, South Knox opened the 2025 IHSAA Class A Sectional Tournament in commanding fashion, blanking the Washington Catholic 5–0 to advance to the semifinals. The Spartans took control early, dictating the tempo and attacking with confidence. Just six minutes in, senior Ross Holscher nearly opened the scoring when his strike rattled the crossbar. The breakthrough came in the 25th minute, when Levi Loudermilk found Jakob Graman, who fired a low rocket into the bottom-left corner for a 1–0 lead. South Knox doubled the advantage in the 37th minute, as Holscher delivered a perfectly placed cross to Tucker Mahan for a composed finish inside the box. After the break, the Spartans showed no signs of slowing down. In the 53rd minute, Mahan linked up with Loudermilk again, who slotted a shot inside the left post to make it 3–0. Kain Ellerman converted a penalty with just under five minutes remaining after Mahan was brought down in the area, stretching the lead to four. Just two minutes later, Kane Simmons capped the scoring with a solo effort after capitalizing on a defensive miskick. Defensively, the Spartans were disciplined and composed. Goalkeeper Blake Sutton was untested throughout, finishing the night without a save as South Knox controlled the run of play from start to finish. Coach's comments: "I thought our focus and composure were excellent tonight. We moved the ball well in not-so-easy conditions and created some quality chances. What I’m most proud of is how connected the group played — every goal came as a result of great teamwork and unselfish play. We're looking to bring that same chemistry and intensity into the next game." With the victory, South Knox improves to 11–4–2 and advances to face the Barr-Reeve Vikings in the Sectional Semifinal on Wednesday, October 8 at 5:00 pm at Northeast Dubois.
